Bob Dillon, Principal
Bob Dillon is the Founder and Principal of Aperture Business Advisors. He has more than 40 years of experience in both family-owned and private equity-sponsored companies in the mid-to-luxury levels of the residential and commercial design industries.
Bob began his career at Harden Furniture Company, starting as a Manufacturing Supervisor and then spending 20+ years working his way through the Engineering, Human Resources and Sales & Marketing Departments to eventually overseeing the development of the company’s Contract and Hospitality Division as VP of Contract Sales & Marketing.
Bob then had the opportunity to take over as Owner and CEO of the storied John Widdicomb Furniture Company, which he ran for several years before facilitating its sale to high-end furniture maker, Stickley. Bob’s experience also includes working as Chief Operating Officer for Holly Hunt, a Chicago-based maker of fine furniture and lighting and, later, developing and serving as President of Moserform, a division of Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers.
More recently, Bob spent almost a decade as CEO of Hubbardton Forge, the renowned manufacturer of fine U.S.-made lighting, opening new distribution channels and nearly doubling the company's revenue while maintaining strong net margins. He then took on a project where, as VP of Business Development, he created a Contract and Hospitality Division for Stickley Furniture Company.
Bob’s goal in each of these engagements and throughout his career has been to create growth through a strong focus on the core disciplines of exceptional product design/development, multi-faceted distribution and lean manufacturing/fulfillment. He feels strongly that these objectives can only be realized through the development and deployment of highly engaged and empowered cross-functional teams and that this approach is the best way to ensure that results will be both scalable and sustainable.
Bob has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from LeMoyne College. He has served on the Board of Directors for Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers, the Board of Directors for the Dallas Market Center and the Board of Governors for the American Lighting Association, of which he was elected Chairman in 2017.
On a personal note, Bob is an avid outdoorsman and in his spare time enjoys woodworking. His family is of utmost importance and he and his wife Geri take every opportunity to spend time with their two daughters and their families, which include four very active grandchildren.
